Our people

ideas.org is made up of a network of digital experts, creatives, developers and designers and other upstarts eager to push the digital envelope. The management team is Simon Grice (founder), Phillip Hofmeyr & Michael Savin.

Simon Grice

Simon is called many names – ideas man, digital guru, event master.

His claim to fame is being at CERN working with the team that built the first web servers and browsers in 1991.

Returning to the UK in 1995 Simon has since Founder/co-founded several successful digital business including PersonalMail (web based email), Netpoll (online polling), Midentity (personal digital identity) and more recently etribes (online communities).

Simon is also co-founder & partner in mashup* (digital insight events/community) and as such has a wide network in the digital sector and is regularly exposed to emerging digital trends.

Phillip Hofmeyr

Online marketing specialist, usability guru, copy-writer, avid networker.

Phil’s a civil engineer with an MBA from Oxford and has a patent-pending sports training aid. He has coached tennis, bought blackberries for Vodafone Group, sold Japanese toys to the US for a Hong Kong business, set up 2 London-based startups. He has simply never figured what he really wants to do. Which is precisely why he’s part of our team. When it comes to ideas we need lateral thinkers with diverse backgrounds who can apply genuine creativity to digital ‘situations’.

  • Testimony
"ideas.org with our partners Transform worked closely with NHS Direct to conceive and trial highly innovative open-source based data visualisation prototypes based on anonymous NHS Direct call data. The prototype allowed us to communicate and market test the concept to key stakeholders and our board."
